Nominations – How to Become a Director of ABCA

A slate of candidates is presented to the membership by the Nominating Committee, whose chairman is a current Director, appointed by the President of the Association. Attention is paid to geographical representation by the Nominating Committee in assembling its slate. Members are invited to send suggestions for candidates to the Nominating Committee chair. In addition to the slate submitted by the Nominating Committee, any person who is a member in good standing as of January 1st and has been nominated by a petition signed by 25 other members in good standing before July 1st will be put on the ballot mailed to members.

Unless there has been a resignation, there are four positions to be filled each year. So long as they are not residents of the same state or province, the four candidates receiving the most votes will become the elected directors. To be eligible to vote in September for your choice of candidates, you must be a member in good standing as of January 1st of that year.
